We are visiting in early Ocober but haven't been able to find any dining reservations. We don't have a dining plan. If you have the dining plan, is it easier to make resrtvations?

    Hello Jennifer, my fellow Canadian!

There is no advantage, from a reservation perspective, to purchasing a Disney Dining Plan for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. No extra tables are held for people who’ve purchased it, either.

While many of the most popular restaurants have probably been booked up, I’d be surprised if there are no restaurants whatsoever available for your family’s upcoming vacation. Some of my family’s favourite restaurants, such as Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot, The Wave... of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (just to name a few!) are seldom totally booked. Each one is definitely worth a visit.

If you have your heart set on dining in a particular location, don’t lose hope! Tables at some of the most sought after Walt Disney World Resort restaurants open up in the weeks (and days) leading up to the date during which you’d like to dine. Your best chance would be to check availability 24-48 hours before the day that you’d like to dine in a given Walt Disney World restaurant. I’ve been able to get a table at Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park 24 hours before the reservation date. Persistence pays off!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Lynne
