We will be visiting DW soon and I will be bringing my personal electric mobility scooter. How can I find locations to recharge my scooter if needed? Mine probably won't last an entire day. Also, will the boats at Port Orleans Riverside accommodate these

    Hi Susan ~

The days at Disney World can certainly be magical but draining on a scooter battery. There does not seem to be one great place to recharge an ECV or scooter battery but there are places here and there to grab a quick charge.

If you are dining at a Table Service location, be sure to ask a Cast Member where you can plug in your scooter. Most of them have a place to accommodate you. This will give you time for a nice charge. I have seen people charging ECVs near the restrooms at 'Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort and just outside of The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom (MK).

You can also find outlets in many of the quick service locations. Go during non-peak dining times. Here are some suggestions:

Magic Kingdom - Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and Pecos Bill Tale Inn & Cafe.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion and Liberty Inn in the American pavilion

Hollywood Studios - ABC Commissary and Backlot Express

Animal Kingdom - Restaurantosaurus and Pizzafari

Be sure to look around in locations that have carpet. One person reminded me that where there is carpet, vacuum cleaners are needed. The pre-show area in the Hall of Presidents in the MK is a good example.

There is a charging location near the Tangled restrooms in the MK. This is a very popular place for cell phone charging as well. You can also visit a First Aid location in any of the parks for assistance. Make sure you start with a fully charged battery each day and bring anything you will need to charge your scooter with you to the parks.

The Sassagoula Water Taxi that goes from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney can usually accommodate scooters based on water levels. Check with the Captain before boarding.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
