Hi! We're visiting DW next month, and I had a question about linking cards to our Magic Bands. Can my 11 y/o have a Magic Band without a credit card linked to it? I want to make sure there aren't any purchases made that we don't know about!

Greetings Aisha and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am happy to hear that in just a few weeks you will be making memories at “The Place Where Dreams Come True”! One of the benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is being able to use your MagicBand to charge purchases to your Guest room. I just love leaving my wallet behind and using my magical wristband to pay for dining and merchandise at all theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney Resort hotels.

Because this is such a great perk, I believe many times even adults should not be granted charging privileges! I can tell you that I have gotten carried away many times, but you know what? Friendly Cast Members at your Disney Resort hotel Front Desk will be happy to provide you with an updated list of all your purchases to keep you on your toes. You can decide at Front Desk which Guests in your party will have a pin and charging privileges, so you do not need to worry about your 11-year-old.

I would like to recommend Disney Gift Cards for your child, as this is a great way for kids to have some freedom with their own money to spend while on holiday. During one of our last family visits my father purchased gift cards for my teenage sister, and this way she was allowed to use that money to buy her own souvenirs and snacks. Disney Gift Cards can be purchased at most merchandise locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, and they start at US$25.00.

I hope this helps you while planning, Aisha! Please stop by if you have additional questions.

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
