We are visiting DW for the first time in November with a 5 and 7 year old and are deciding between the Board Walk and Beach Club. Does the Board Walk get really loud at night? Can you see the fireworks at EPCOT from both?

Hi Sarah!  Since you have two children who just might want to swim a few times during your stay I would suggest staying at the Beach Club resort.  The Yacht and Beach resorts share what many consider to be the best pool on property called Stormalong Bay. It comes with sandy bottoms, slides, and lazy rivers and lots of fun activities all day long.

You also have the beach area to sink your toes in and watch movies at night or toast marshmallows around the campfire.  Cape May is a great restaurant right off the lobby making it very convenient for a character breakfast or a tasty dinner clam bake buffet. (other menu items are included in the buffet)
I find the Beach Club to be very family friendly and even in the lobby you can often find cast members playing games with the kids.

Boardwalk at night isn't especially loud but it is a night time spot for some so it can be crowded.  Most rooms do not overlook the actual Boardwalk area.

You can see some of the fireworks from EPCOT's Illuminations from each resort.  Your room would need to be high up and looking over the direction toward the park.  This is not going to give you a great view by any means and the only way to really see the show is to be inside EPCOT since much of it is water level.
