We are visiting DW in a few weeks and are really trying to decide if the Dinning Plan will be cost effective for our family of 5. There are three adults and two children. Our youngest is only 4.

    Hi Tracy,

Welcome to the Moms Panel, and congratulations on your upcoming vacation!  I think I am one of the few "Moms" that has not tried the dining plan.  If you intend of eating at several table service restaurants, or character meals then I believe that it is absolutely a cost effective way to dine at Walt Disney World.

My family of five contains a couple very picky eaters, and everyone has fairly light appetites so the majority of our meals are light meals at counters service locations.  I have noticed that the amount of food you receive when participating in the dining plan is way more than we would ever eat.  So we find that it is more cost effective to simply ordering what we're hungry for, when we're hungry.  I normally bring my own snacks and water with me into the park, and this saves me a lot of money!

    Hope this helps!
