We are visiting DW at Christmas and will be arriving late afternoon the first day. Instead of going to a park we want to see the decorations in some of the resorts. Starting with gingerbread house at GF. Do you have any suggestions of special displays?

Hi Sandra! This will be a great way to start your Disney vacation!

The Grand Floridian is the most known of the wonderful holiday decorations but certainly not the only one. The life size gingerbread house is located in the lobby and includes a special bake shop where you can purchase some delicious treats.  Gingerbread house decorating demos are held each day except Sunday in front of this display if you have time to take that in during your visit.

Close to this resort is the Contemporary where you can find a 17 foot gingerbread holiday tree in the Grand Concourse. You will find great treats and "one of a kind" Disney Contemporary Resort gingerbread house complete with a monorail running through it. At certain times a member of the Contemporary bakery team will be on hand to answer questions.

Heading over to the EPCOT area you can visit the Boardwalk resort to find a gazebo with holiday scene made of gingerbread and chocolate in the lobby.  Look for the hidden Mickeys!

Across the water look for the life size spinning edible carousel in the Beach Club Lobby.  This is actually one of my favorite holiday sites. This will be the 11th year for this decoration and thus you will be able to find 11 hidden Mickey's! It is quite intricate and beautiful and certainly different from the other gingerbread decorations.  The Yacht Club lobby will have a holiday village with train so don't forget to stop by there.

Other resorts will have decorations but the above are certainly the most known and intricate!
