I will visiting DW in April, and again in November. Are there any special events happening there at either time, such as cheerleading, pop warner etc?  Trying to avoid those busy times with large groups of kids :)

    Hi Jann,

Welcome back, Jann! It's so exciting that you are going to get to visit Walt Disney World twice next year. As a Disney regular, I'm sure you're aware that there's always something special going at the theme parks and related Disney venues.

Generally, the end of April and early November are some of the least crowded times. In the spring, the two weeks right before and right after Easter (April 15 this year) are among the busiest, as is Thanksgiving week in November.

If you are most concerned about competition-related crowds, you can check the schedule of events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports calendar. The USASF Cheerleading and Dance Worlds Championship is April 26 to May 1. I do not yet see a schedule for next fall, but I see that the Pop Warner tournaments are during the first week of December this year.

Other special events to be aware of, both for gauging attendance and for your enjoyment: The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival runs March 1 to May 29. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which begins on August 31, 2017, extends to November 13.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with your question, Jann. Please come back any time if we can help with your Disney vacation planning. Enjoy both your Walt Disney World vacations in 2017!
