Hi! Will be visiting DL for the 1st time Dec 10th &11th. Any tips for a first-timer who may not make it back to DL for many years? What should I not miss? Where should I eat? Traveling solo. Thanks!

    Hi, Linda!

I hope you’re looking forward to your holiday season visit to the Disneyland Resort. It’s a special time of year when The Happiest Place on Earth is also the merriest!

A great first step would be to peruse and create a wish list of attractions and entertainment. Plan to utilize Disney’s FASTPASS service when available to optimize your time in the parks. You won’t want to miss Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday, and the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show’s finale of snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. is a must-see. Another favorite is “World of Color—Winter Dreams,” a nighttime water spectacular at Disney California Adventure Park that brings holiday-themed animation to the popular show.

Blue Bayou is my favorite restaurant at Disneyland Park. It’s located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience! Plaza Inn is a Victorian-themed restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. It’s also the home of my favorite quick-service meal, the fried chicken.

You’ll want to explore Cars Land and ride Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park, in addition to trying Flo’s V8 Café, which features classic American cuisine. The décor is inspired by drive-up diners and features a spectacular view of cars speeding by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. Be sure to see Cars Land during the day and also at night when the neon lights are aglow…it’s truly like stepping into the film. My pick for an elegant meal is Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park because of the romantic 1930s Hollywood atmosphere.

I hope this helps, Linda, and that you enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to the Disneyland Resort!

    Wishing you magic,
