Hey Howdy Hey Stephen and welcome to planDisney!
I am so glad you have been keeping up with the recent news of the return of
Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom this fall. You are right, the start date is on August 12th and yes, this would alter your evening in Magic Kingdom if you were planning to spend the whole day and night in the park. You are fortunate in that you have noted this change early so you have some options we can review.
The first option, and one that I would recommend, is that you purchase tickets for the special Halloween party. If you have never attended this event in the past, it is one you do not want to miss! This special event has everything from special shows, parades, Halloween touches to some of our favorite attractions, special food and snack offerings and of course, Trick-or-Treating at many locations throughout the park. There is truly something for everyone to experience at this party and if you can, I would highly recommend attending!
Since you caught this schedule update so soon, your next option will involve taking advantage of the
Park Hopper Option you may have purchased with your tickets or just changing your park day and
Theme Park Reservations in general. If you did not want to partake in the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom, you can plan to use your Park Hopper option to spend your evening in another park to avoid calling your night early if you planned on staying out later. You can also change the day of your park reservation and ticket to another park if you do not have the Park Hopper option.
So there are a couple of options for you to consider. I hope you might find it in the budget to consider one of the days for the Halloween party as it looks like you might be able to take advantage on
August 12th or the 16th. Make sure if you do elect to purchase your tickets for the Halloween party, keep an eye out for
Disney Parks Blog on any updates for the entertainment and food options that will be available special for this party!
Best of luck with your continued planning and if you have any further questions please let us know, we would be happy to help!
Happy planning,
Nick
