We will be visiting Disneyworld in October and staying off-property. Is it worth purchasing a MagicBand for our three and a half year old or would it be better to just let her wear a lanyard (which she'll have anyway for pin trading)?

    Hey Sylvia-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. October is one of the best times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. Special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Presented by Chase have unique treats for both kids and adults.

My kids love their MagicBands and they have a collection. This wearable technology is part of the MyMagic+ system which helps make your experience at Walt Disney World Resort more enjoyable. You will be able “touch” your way through the entire theme park from the turnstiles to your FastPass+ attractions. Once you purchase the MagicBand link it to your Disney account.

There are so many designs, collections and colors that MagicBands have become fantastic wearable souvenirs. I would order your princess one from and search on for ways to decorate the MagicBand with nail polish and other materials to make it extra-special. For example, you could take a blue MagicBand, white nail polish and draw snowflakes on it like Queen Elsa or an orange MagicBand with black nail polish to paint stripes to look like Tigger. There are also Bandit charms and sliders that are so cute.

While I love lanyards and pin trading, I know moving through the theme parks is best without those hard tickets dangling around my neck. MagicBands are the best solution.

She is going to love having this special treat and your princess may never want to take it off.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
