Hello, Diane!
Welcome to planDisney! I am so glad that you have brought your important planning question to us today.
Can you believe that you and your family will be enjoying yourselves in the Walt Disney World Resort in just a little over a month? Your trip will be here before you know it, so I am glad to see you putting the finishing touches on your vacation.
The biggest event going on has been in the works for quite some time!
Disney’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is here and it’s being celebrated in all 4 theme parks, Disney Springs and
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels with special entertainment, experiences, attractions, merchandise, and sweets, treats, eats, and libations. Disney has created 2 nighttime spectaculars to celebrate magnificently.
Disney Enchantment, shown nightly in the Magic Kingdom combines, fireworks and character projections on Cinderella Castle and the buildings of Main Street U.S.A. set to a new theme song and arrangement of your favorite Disney songs.
EPCOT hosts
Harmonious in the World Showcase Lagoon. This is one of the largest nighttime spectaculars created for Disney Parks. It combines the art of storytelling through music, floating giant screens, choreographed moving fountains, lights, and an array of pyrotechnics inspired by some of your new favorite Disney Characters including Moana, Coco, Brave, and The Princess and the Frog.
Speaking of EPCOT, the
International Flower and Garden Festival will still be in full bloom when you arrive. Disney’s famous topiaries are always a showstopper. So many beautiful displays and flowers to see. Be sure to stop by the butterfly tent to see all the various types of beautiful butterflies. The
Outdoor Kitchens will also carry a pleasing aroma of some delicious and savory delights to enjoy. Also, take the time to check out the limited-edition merchandise offered during this celebration. You may find something to help you further develop your green thumb.
As of right now, there are no other special events scheduled during your visit, but that doesn't mean there could be something in the works. I suggest that you keep an ear tuned in to the Disney Parks Blog for any last-minute special events or celebrations.
Remember that all Guests must have a valid ticket and
park pass reservation. I would recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure that you get your first choice of theme park while planning your itinerary. If you already have dining reservations, it is recommended that you reserve that park even if you have the Park Hopper Option added to your tickets. All parks are still operating with limited availability and a dining reservation will not guarantee admission.
I hope that helps with your planning. If you have any more questions before you arrive, please come back and ask us.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
