I am visiting DisneyWorld in April and I see that the Magic Kingdom is open at 8am each day (not EMH, just standard hours). What time do the gates open on those days? It looks as thought the opening show is still at 8.55am though, does that sound right?

Hello Bee-Ann and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel where I'm always extra happy to help a fellow Guest from the United Kingdom with their jolly holiday plans to visit the magic and enchantment of Walt Disney World Resort.
April and Spring at Walt Disney World Resort are such wonderful times of the yEar for a visit and I just love seeing all the beautiful topiary displays at 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
I enjoy the planning stage of my Disney holidays and to aid planning I always check out schedules ahead of time via this handy Park Hours & Calendars link and at present (as I type) Magic Kingdom Park does benefit from various opening times including Extra Magic Hours in both the morning and evening.
Guests are welcomed into Main Street U.S.A approximately 1 hour prior to scheduled Park opening times where they may meander though the stores, take iconic photographs or enjoy a coffee from Main Street Bakery before beginning their Disney day with Let The Magic Begin. This fun live show featuring Mickey and the gang takes place in front of Cinderella Castle right before the official Park opening time.
    Have a great Disney day.
