Hi, I will be visiting Disneyland for my twin’s birthday on April 17th. There doesn’t seem to be an after hours event that day so I’m wondering why the park closes at 10 and not midnight? Thank you for your response in advance.

    Hi ya, Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney, it's so nice to meet you! If you're visiting for your twin's birthday then can I assume that it will also be YOUR birthday? Disneyland Park is the perfect way to celebrate!

I took a peek at the Hours & Events Calendar and you are right that Disneyland Park is planned to close at 10:00 PM on the day of your visit. That's not uncommon for a weeknight during this time of year when the Fairy Godmother wants us all to get our beauty sleep. The parks are often open later on weekends and during times like school breaks and holidays. Once we get a little closer to summer I'll be that the Fairy Godmother will work her magic on the park hours and we'll be dancing in our glass slippers (or maybe sneakers) until midnight!

Even when the parks aren't open quite as late as we might wish you can still enjoy a lot in a day! I highly recommend that you arrive at the parks an hour before the official opening time so you can get through security and be one of the first in the park. You can enjoy so many attractions in that early morning time! You can also purchase Disney Genie+ Service to use Lightning Lane queues and add a little extra magic to your day.

A fun bonus of Disney Genie+ Service is that it includes unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass images. So perfect for a birthday celebration day! You can find Disney PhotoPass Photographers across the park and if you let them know that you're celebrating I'm sure they'll have some fun ideas for memorable photos.

Speaking of celebrations, don't forget to ask for complimentary celebration buttons from a Guest Relations Cast Member! You can also stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and request a complimentary sprinkle of Pixie Dust from the Fairy Godmother's Apprentice. This is one of my favorite things to do at the park, you'll sparkle with birthday magic all day long!

Wishing you many magical birthday moments, Sarah!

    Keep moving forward!
