We are visiting Disneyland for Thanksgiving this year. Will there be a special character dinner and if so, when will we be able to book it? I want to ensure that my 7 year old will have a magical thanksgiving experience. Heather Las Vegas

Greetings, Heather, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

What a delightful way to celebrate Thanksgiving, at the Happiest Place on Earth! You’re going to create such magical memories with your 7-year-old. Though we don’t know about any special dining options for Thanksgiving just yet, I’d recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any updates. This is the best place for any breaking Disney Parks news! There have been Thanksgiving meals held at the Disneyland Resort in past years, so I’m hoping there will be something for your family this year. Here’s an example of Thanksgiving meal options from 2015 – reservations for the table-service dining options were available on September 29 that year. However, it looks like Characters weren't present at any of those dining experiences. So, even if there are some Thanksgiving meal offerings, they may not include Characters.

However, I'm happy to report that there are still plenty of great Character Dining options for you and your family to enjoy! Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, held inside Disneyland Park, is one of my family's favorites! Other options include Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures and Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast/Brunch Buffet, both offered inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. At the Disneyland Hotel, your Mouseketeer will love laughing along with Goofy at Breakfast and Dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen. Last but not least, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel offers Donald Duck’s Seaside Breakfast

You’ll want to mark your calendar for 60 days prior to your visit so you can start making dining reservations. You can make reservations online, on the Disneyland app, or by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463).

Please stop by with any other questions you have as you continue planning your magical adventure to the Disneyland Resort this Thanksgiving!

    Wishing you magic!

Greetings from sunny California! I live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder (and now a Magic Key Passholder) for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids ages 5-10, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Learn More About Kristin
