Hi there, Lisa! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love that your son wants to dress as Star-Lord! With the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction and all the fun that has been had during Summer or Heroes, Marvel characters have definitely found a home in Disney California Adventure Park.
According to the
Park Rules, Guests under 14 years old may wear masks as long as they do not cover the entire face, provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times, and the mask allows the eyes to be fully seen. Knowing what I do of Star-Lord's helmet, I'm not quite sure that it would fit the qualifications. Since many variations of the helmet/mask could exist, if you think the one you own might meet the guidelines, you can bring it with you and ask a Cast Member at the park if it would be permissible.
If your son isn't able to wear the helmet, then perhaps dancing alongside Star-Lord himself would be a great option instead! Star-Lord and Gamora pair up for the
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! several times a day in front of the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction. Kids are chosen from the crowd to show off their sweet dance moves and Groot often appears at the end to strut his stuff and pose for pictures. It's a really funny and cute interactive experience perfect for any Guardians of the Galaxy fan! Check the
Disneyland app when you are in the park for exact times.
I hope this helps. Please return to the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with any other questions you may have!
