Hello, visiting Disneyland in July 2020 with a large group. They would like to go to Blue Bayou. I have hear that you can no long split meals at Blue Bayou or just order an appetizer and dessert, is this is true? Is there a minimum order amount/person?

    Hi Shelley!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You’re right to start making dining plans for your party now! When traveling with a large group, I always recommend making dining reservations in advance through the Disneyland App, via the Disneyland Resort website or by calling (714) 781-DINE (714-781-3463).

I love the atmosphere of Blue Bayou Restaurant, you truly feel as though you’ve been transported to Louisiana! I have fond memories of dining there as a child. My mother and I would order Mint Juleps and watch the boats pass by as we ate. I understand why your group is eager to experience this classic Disneyland dining location; however, the Cast Member I spoke to confirmed Blue Bayou Restaurant requires that each guest order an entree.

If your group is looking for an upscale experience, but prefers appetizers and desserts to entrees, allow me to suggest Carthay Circle Lounge in Disney California Adventure Park. Craft cocktails and elegant appetizers are served in a romantic retro setting. The lounge is located adjacent to Carthay Circle Restaurant and is open during lunch and dinner service. No reservations are needed for the lounge area. I recommend getting there early as it tends to fill up later in the day. If your group ends up at Carthay Circle Lounge, the Garden Spring Roll is always a crowd favorite!

I hope this helps you finalize your plans!  Please return to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions!
