We are visiting Disneyland in Jan 2023. Im hoping Haunted mansion and small world will not be closed for holiday decor removal. Are there dates for this? I understand holiday decor will be coming down but will the ride be closed? 1/11/23 arrival

Hey howdy hey, Debra! You’ve got a friend in me at planDisney!

There’s nothing like kicking off the New Year at the Happiest Place on Earth, so I’m excited to hEAR about your January getaway to the Disneyland Resort. Typically, the Entertainment Schedule, which posts the dates that attractions will be closed for refurbishment, is updated about six weeks in advance, so we may not know the exact closure dates until the end of November. Sometimes this information is announced earlier on the Disney Parks Blog within any posts about the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort.

For example, this blog post back in November of 2021 announced the dates of the 2021-2022 holiday season at the Disneyland Resort, which lasted through January 9, 2022. So, we know that both “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday will be closed at some point during early January to revert back to their original look, though we don’t know exactly when that will be. I wish I had more information for you, but my best recommendation is to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog this fall for the latest holiday announcements.

In addition, the planDisney Podcast, which officially launched last month, will be sharing some holiday updates in the next few months, so stay tuned for the latest scoop on all things holiday at the Disneyland Resort this summer, Debra! The next episode will drop this Wednesday, April 20, so be sure to check it out!

If you have any additional planning questions, please stop by once again… we’re all EARs!

    Happy planning,
    Kristin
