Will be visiting disneyland for the first time with my sister on christmas eve and then two weeks later going to disney world for the first time and was wondering if there were any rides we should do at disneyland that they do not have at disneyworld

Hi there Charlotte.  Wow...I must say I'm a bit envious of this vacation of a lifetime!  Sounds AMAZING to say the least.

As someone who commonly travels to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, let me be the first to welcome you to the "coast to coast" Disney club.  Disneyland and Disney World are like apples and oranges.  They are similar in many ways, but they are also very different.

I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to experience as many attractions as possible, even if they overlap on some of the Walt Disney World attractions.  One of my favorite Disney Parks pastimes is to compare the differences and similarities between the "overlapping" attractions, especially Haunted Mansion (which along with 'it's a small world' will have a special holiday overlay during your visit), Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and Peter Pan.

With that being said, be sure to check out the "Disneyland exclusive" rides as well.  These include Indiana Jones, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Pinnochio's Daring Adventure, Mr Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, and Casey Junior Circus Train among others.

Here's wishing you most magical vacations to Disneyland AND Disney World that are Pixie Dusted in every way!  Please write back if I can be of further assistance in the planning of this fantastic adventure.

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
