Congrats on your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! First visits to Disneyland are always so magical! You're in for a real treat!
World of Color (WOC) is one of my favorite attractions in any Disney Park. I can't even begin to articulate the beauty and wonder of this unique water show at Disney California Adventure Park. I can't blame you for wanting to be as close as possible, because the show is extremely popular and you'll want to be situated right in front of Paradise Bay where you can feel the mist tickle your face as water projections of your favorite Disney films flash before you with an incredible soundtrack and phenomenal light show.
Although I am huge fan of character dining, I actually prefer the
WOC Picnic in this case! You can choose from several cold picnic options and will have the flexibility of choosing which showing of WOC you wish to view (when applicable). I have tried the Antipasto picnic, which was delicious and my hubby really enjoyed the Fried Chicken meal! My daughter loved the Junior All-American Box and was extremely excited to discover the special WOC souvenir that came with hers!
You can pick up your picnic at any time on the day you've selected, between 11:30 AM and up to 1 hour prior to your selected WOC. When you arrive at Sonoma Terrace to grab your picnic, they will have it all packed in a reusable WOC bag and ready to go! You will be given a ticket which will grant you access to a specific section of the Paradise Pier WOC viewing area, but this area is first come, first served. My family always picks up our food around 6:30, and we immediately head to the benches in our WOC viewing section to enjoy our picnic. This guarantees us a great view of Paradise Bay and WOC.
