Hello again, Marshall!
It sounds like you are the "leader of the club" for your family. I'm happy to give you some tech tips before you arrive this week!
When you have multiple tickets linked to your MyDisney account (as you already do if you have theme park reservations) then you've got some serious power in the
Disneyland Mobile App! You'll be able to make Lightning Lane reservations for every eligible ticket linked to your account, including your lucky kiddos. So you can manage Lightning Lanes for everyone right from your app!
There are a few ways to make
Lightning Lane selections in the app:
- One option is to open the app and tap the "☰" icon to open the main menu, then choose "Rides, Shows & Lightning Lane Entry" from the top buttons. That will open the Tip Board, where you'll see a list of all the attractions. When the button for "Show Only Lightning Lane Experiences" is toggled on (it'll be blue) you'll see a list of options for Lightning Lanes and the current return times. If you see one you'd like to do just tap "Book Experience" and follow the prompts!
- Another way to select Lightning Lanes is to tap the "+" icon at the bottom center of the app, then choose "Book Lightning Lane Entry" from the list. That will take you back to the Tip Board, too!
- You can also use the map feature in the app by tapping the pin icon and then tapping on an attraction. On the attraction screen you'll see a Lightning Lane bar (if that attraction has Lightning Lane) which you can tap to be taken to the Tip Board to book your return time.
You can select your first Lightning Lane as soon as you've entered the park and purchased access (if it isn't part of your tickets already). Your next Lightning Lane will be available after you use your current one, or two hours after your last selection.
Lightning Lanes aren't the only magic happening in the app! I highly recommend using
mobile ordering in the app to make meal times and snacks easier. Your Lightning Lane access also includes digital downloads of any Disney PhotoPass images, so make sure to take advantage of those friendly photographers around the parks! One of our favorite ways to pass time in line is the clever
Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the app. They'll help you take the most magical selfies ever!
With all that pixie dust flowing through your phone, you should take an extra battery to the parks. If you don't have one, you can
purchase a charger in the parks! These little batteries are particularly handy because you can swap them out for a fully charged battery at kiosks in the park whenever yours runs out.
You should be powered up and ready for some fun now, Marshall! Take these last few days to explore the app and you'll be the best guide ever for your family.
