We will be visiting Disneyland and my child will be turning 3 while we are on the trip. Do I need to purchase him a park ticket?

    Hey, howdy, hey, Allison!

Yeehaw! You 'n' yer li'l Mouseketeer will be havin' a rootin', tootin' time at the Disneyland Resort. I betcha can’t wait to have the time of yer lives at The Happiest Place on Earth!

Each Guest of the Disneyland Resort age three and older will require both a theme park ticket and a theme park reservation to enter the parks. Guests less than three years old do not require a ticket nor a park reservation, though they must be accompanied by another Guest age 14 years or older. When visiting the Disneyland Resort by booking a Vacation Package, each Guest will have their age at the time of travel locked in place for the duration of their visit. Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort without a Vacation Package will only need tickets for the vacation days after they have turned three years old.

Tony’s Tip: It is possible to book multiple overlapping theme park reservations for different tickets. For example, most members of your party may have park tickets and park reservations that are valid for all days of your visit. And your two-year-old son may use a ticket with fewer valid days that would be used for the days reserved after he turns three. Though the different park reservation bookings will show separately on the "My Theme Park Reservations" page, all of the tickets will show up normally in the “Tickets and Passes” screen of the Disneyland app. As long as each ticket is linked to a valid park reservation, you are good to go!

I’d like to wish your dear little birthday boy a very happy day. Celebrating a family birthday at the Disneyland Resort is one of my favorite things to do. I hope you all enjoy the festivities.

    Have a magical time, Allison!
