    i will be visiting Disneyland in august for my son's 2nd bday. he has autism. but loves mickey. and i would like to have a character lunch. does it have to be at a restaurant or can they come up to our room. and what other toddler friendly things to do

    Hi, Daleth! A birthday at the Disneyland Resort is nothing short of amazing and your little one is going to have so much fun! Make sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. for his complimentary birthday button.

    A character dining experience with Mickey sounds like the perfect gift for your little Mouseketeer! Your best bet to meet the main mouse himself is to book a breakfast reservation at Disney's PCH Grill inside Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. You will meet Mickey as you enter the restaurant and then you will be greeted by a few of his pals while you eat. Or, you can book Disney Dinnertime Magic at Goofy's Kitchen. Chef Mickey joins Chef Goofy to bring you a tasty dinner and lots of belly laughs. Advanced reservations for character meals are highly recommended and can be made up to 60 days in advance online or by calling (714) 781-3463.

    For some birthday magic in your Disneyland Resort Hotel room, you can purchase an in-room celebration which can include decorations and some special goodies.

    In Disneyland Park, you will definitely want to check out Mickey's Toontown! This land has lots of fun areas to explore and you can also meet Mickey here and take a tour through his house. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, your little one might also enjoy "a bug's land" as there are a few attractions perfect for toddlers and even a splash pad area called Princess Dot Puddle Park.
