I am visiting Disney with my 6 yr old daughter for 4 days. Actually it is 6 but the first and last day will be gone in traveling. Could you please suggest some of the most enjoyed experiences for a 6 yr old girl. Thank you.”
Hello Gowri, thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'd love to offer my suggestions for rides, attractions, and shows that your daughter might enjoy. Last summer, when my own daughter was six years old, these were her favorites. I hope your little girl will enjoy them just as much as mine did.
In Magic Kingdom, her favorites were Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, and Mad Tea Party (teacups). Something new that just began recently is the Festival of Fantasy Parade. She would also probably love Enchanted Tales with Belle, an interactive storytime that is perfectly magical. Over in Epcot, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Journey into Imagination and Soarin' topped her list of favorites. Your little one might also enjoy the Kidcot Fun Stops around World Showcase. Illuminations - Reflections of Earth was my daughter's favorite nighttime fireworks show. Disney's Animal Kingdom was a close second to Magic Kingdom for my little girl. Wilderness Explorers, an interactive "scavenger hunt" of sorts where kids can earn "badge" stickers at stations all over the park, was her favorite thing of our entire trip. She was the perfect age to really enjoy all the activities, plus it gave her something to do when her older brother enjoyed rides that she couldn't go on for height restrictions. Also, fun there for that age is Kilimanjaro Safaris, Rafiki's Planet Watch and Kali River Rapids. Lastly, at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you won't want to miss Toy Story Mania, Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage, Muppet*Vision 3D, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. While these are must sees for this age, there is a lot to the park that either my daughter couldn't ride due to height restrictions or that she simply didn't "get". So, maybe a half day is a suggestion, if you have the park hopper. Then, you could spend another half day at either Magic Kingdom or Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Have fun!
