We are visiting Disney World the week of the Dec.26-Jan. 5th. We want to see the Christmas Parade and fireworks what is the last day to see this. We will spend NYE at Magic Kingdom. Does the MVMCP parade and fireworks occur on December 31st too? Thank you

Ho-ho-ho! Hiya, Timothy! Thanks so much for bringing your question to planDisney. I can’t think of a more magical time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort than the week between Christmas and the New Year. There’s truly nothing like the sparkle and joy that fills Magic Kingdom Park during that season. You’re going to love it!

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park between Christmas and New Year’s Eve are in for a very special treat, because Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has historically been available to day Guests after Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ends for the season. This magical parade tends to run twice daily from the day after the very last party night through December 31. So yes, you should still be able to catch it if you’re visiting over New Year’s Eve.

As for fireworks, there’s even more magic to look forward to. Through December 29, Guests have been able to enjoy Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks in the past. This is a stunning nighttime spectacular filled with holiday music and sparkling colors lighting up the sky above Cinderella Castle. Then, on December 30 and 31, the celebration usually gets even bigger with Fantasy in the Sky, a fan-favorite fireworks show that truly rings in the New Year with dazzling energy! Now, while all of this has been true in the past, I would still encourage you to keep an eye out for news from the Disney Parks Blog for certainty regarding dates and showtimes.

Timothy, it sounds like your plan to spend New Year’s Eve at Magic Kingdom Park is absolutely perfect. You’ll get the best of both worlds: holiday magic and a sparkling New Year’s celebration all in one incredible night. Be sure to arrive early, soak in every detail, and get ready for an unforgettable start to the new year surrounded by fireworks, music, and Disney cheer. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
