Hi - we're visiting Disney World with our two children (5 and 2) from 16 February to 24 February. It seems like this is a busy time, which parks should we visit and when to maximise our time? Thanks.

    Hello there, Nick!

Welcome to planDisney. We're delighted you've dropped by with a fantastic Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! I'm thrilled that your club of Mouseketeers will be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth very soon. There's nothing more enchanting than visiting the Disney Parks with little ones! I'd be happy to help you prepare for a memorable vacation with your cast of characters.

As a fellow parent of a preschooler, I'm always searching for ways to maximize our time enjoying family-friendly offerings in the theme parks, while minimizing our attraction wait times. Nick, you might consider purchasing Disney Genie+ service on days you'll be visiting those theme parks with the most child-friendly attractions. (For example, my family always utilizes this service when at Magic Kingdom Park.) Guests can purchase Disney Genie+ service in the My Disney Experience mobile app on the day of their theme park visit and can begin making Lightning Lane entry selections at 7:00 a.m.

It's important to note that the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be taking place from February 22-26, 2024. During race events, you may experience operational changes, including road closures, throughout property as runners make their way through the theme parks and roadways that connect them! Most notably, you may experience minor interruptions in or near Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT on the morning of February 25, 2024 as the half marathoners (including myself!) wrap up their races. However, things should return to normal operation by early afternoon each day during race weekend! To minimize any race-related interruptions, I recommend starting your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park on February 25, 2024, as its location is far from the planned race course.

Nick, you chose a wonderful time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Not only is the weather typically mild and pleasant in February, but your family will catch the final few days of this year's EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This colorful and fun-filled festival is inspiring for the entire family. While the adults in your travel party can delight in delicacies from around the world at the Food Studios throughout the theme park, your little ones can enjoy creating their own chalk art creations and partaking in Figment's Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt! The festival ends after February 19, 2024, so be sure to prioritize an EPCOT day early in your vacation to catch the creativity in action.

I hope these recommendations help you prepare for a holiday filled with wonder and enchantment, Nick! Be sure to check out the complimentary planning guide for parents of preschoolers and little ones ahead of your visit for suggestions on the best attractions and experiences to enjoy with your little Mouseketeers. Finally, stop back by planDisney with any additional questions you might have - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
