Hello! We are visiting Disney World in November! I have 3 young kids and I am trying to decide which nighttime parade to see. Is there a difference in start times between the Starlight parade and the holiday parade at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party?

    Season's Greetings, Lynne!

Welcome to planDisney! You’re in for a jolly good time with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays. The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit the theme parks. I love seeing Walt Disney World Resort come to life with the different decorations and seasonal offerings. Plus, you can sometimes find Mickey and all his Pals in their holiday best. And their outfits make them all even more adorable!

Both parades you mention happen at Magic Kingdom Park. As of now, Starlight: Dream the Night Away is available to view at two different times each evening. I did notice on the calendar that on the days that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is occurring, Disney Starlight parade is not. The schedule for the remainder of the year is not yet visible, but I would imagine that the schedule will be similar, and on the nights Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is occurring, Disney Starlight won’t be. Which means, as long as you have tickets to the party, you’ll get to enjoy both parades on different days!

If you are set on seeing a nighttime spectacular, I recommend taking a midday resort break so that your little ones can stay awake to see it. That’s what my family usually does. We rope drop in the morning, take a midday break, then head back in the evening to enjoy the theme parks a little more. This year will be our first time partying at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. On this day, we plan on enjoying the resort and heading to the theme park at the start of the party. So we won’t be visiting that day with a traditional theme park ticket, just the party ticket that day. Which might be a good plan for you and your little ones, too.

Lynne, I hope this helps answer your question. Have a great visit, and if you need any other planning tips, we are always here to help.

    Tis’ the Season,

    Shantel
