I am visiting disney world next may, a month before my daughter turns 3. Will I need to bring ID for her to prove that she is under 3?

Hey there, Louise. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Visiting Walt Disney World with a preschooler is so much fun. It's a magical time of amazement for them and it will be memories that you'll remember forever. Children under the age of 3 do not require Theme Park Admission when visiting Walt Disney World. Admission is based on the honor system, there won't be anyone questioning your daughter's age. If you are worried about it, however, a copy of her birth certificate wouldn't hurt to put in your bag. I've never seen anyone being questioned about a child's age so I certainly wouldn't worry about it that much. Not only do children under 3 get to enter the Walt Disney World Theme Parks for free, they can also dine for free too! I like to consider it a gift from Mickey Mouse, himself. When dining at all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants like Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort of 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you are able to fix your under 3 child her own plates straight from the buffet. When you dine at restaurants like California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort where you select an entree from the menu, your child is able to plate share with anyone you wish at the table. If you'd like to order your child her own meal at those style of restaurants, only then would you need to pay for her meal. When my daughter was younger, we dined at all-you-care-to-enjoy meals a lot because it saved us some money. Plus, a lot of character meals are theses style restaurants and those are always so much fun with kids that age.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion, Louise. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
