Hi Christine!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My little one has multiple severe food allergies, so I have quite a bit of experience accommodating food allergies during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I am happy to help you prepare for your trip. You are correct that you should notify your servers at a table service restaurant of your little one's allergies. If you need additional assistance in finding a safe, allergy-friendly option for your little one, you can ask to speak to the Chef who can help you and your little one select a safe and tasty meal. I have found this to be particularly helpful at restaurants that are either buffets or family-style meals as the Chef can help me determine safe options and to help us determine if my son need to eat food straight from the kitchen, rather than from the buffet options.
For quick-service dining, you will still want to notify the Cast Member taking your order of your little one's food allergy. Then you can either use an
allergy-friendly menu to help you select a safe option or ask to speak with a manager or Chef to help find a good option for your little one. Notifying the Cast Members of your little one's allergy will help them best accommodate him or her while dining!
Please let me know if you have any other questions about accommodating your little one's
special dietary needs during your vacation or if you have any other questions about planning your trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
