Hi! I am visiting Disney World in May 2020 and found out it's when the Cheerleading/Dance Summit is going on. Are there any days where park hours will be effected due to private events I should consider when making my plans? Thanks!

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mallory!

One of the things I love about Walt Disney World Resort is what a must-see destination it is for people from all around the world. There are special events, competitions, conferences, and gatherings happening all the time at the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels and it all runs so smoothly that most of the time I don't even realize when I'm sharing a Resort Hotel or any other space with a tour group, school trip, or sports teams!

Since there are large tour groups at Walt Disney World Resort pretty much every single day of the year, sometimes they do plan special events inside the Theme Parks that may affect the operating hours for other guests. I know that this spring during the sports competition you're asking about there was an event one evening that closed Magic Kingdom Park a few hours early so the participants could celebrate their hard work together at a private event. With about eight months to go before your vacation, we don't quite know yet what the operating hours will be that week but it should become more clear around the time you make your advanced dining reservations 180 days before your arrival. The hours are subject to change at any time, so it's a good idea to keep checking that calendar periodically in the months and weeks leading up to your vacation.

    Have a magical day, Mallory!
