Hello. We will be visiting Disney World for our first time. 3 of my kids have peanut/treenut allergies and one also has an egg allergy. We have the quick service dining plan. How do we know which foods are safe for our kids while we are there in August?

    Hi Julie!

I'm so excited to hear that you are getting ready for a magical family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort and it's just around the corner! As the mom to a little one with food allergies, I know how challenging it can be to find safe and tasty foods when you're away from home. We have enjoyed many family trips to visit Mickey Mouse and in our experience, the Chefs and Cast Members have always worked really hard to make sure that my son can have incredible dining experiences with the rest of the family, while also eating safely during our trip!

You will find that there are allergy-friendly menus at the table service and quick service restaurants throughout the theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs. These allergy-friendly menus will help you select safe options that are free of each of your little one's allergies. Did you know that there is an entire team dedicated to helping Guests with special dietary requirements plan their dining for their vacations? Since multiple of your children are accommodating different allergies, I recommend that you contact the Special Diets Team directly by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com so they can help you coordinate your dining plans. Be sure to contact them at least 14 days in advance so you have plenty of time to work with them before your visit!

In general, when you arrive at any restaurant, let the Cast Member know that you will be accommodating multiple food allergies and ask to speak to a Chef or Manager who is trained in accommodating food allergies. They will be able to help you pick meals that are safe for your little ones to enjoy. You can also always ask to see ingredients lists to verify safe options if you need to! In our experience, we have found a wide variety of options for my little one to choose from that are safe from his multiple allergies.

Let me know if I can help you with any additional questions as you continue counting down the sleeps until your magical vacation. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
