We will be visiting Disney World for 2 days and this is our daughters first trip. She is 3. Is there anything special that DW has to offer?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Christie! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

A first Walt Disney World trip at three years old is such a magical milestone. There is something incredibly special about seeing the parks through the eyes of a little one who is experiencing it all for the very first time.

One of the very first things I always recommend is stopping by Guest Relations or the front desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and asking for a complimentary “First Visit” button for your daughter. Cast Members love spotting those buttons, and you may notice that they go out of their way to welcome her, congratulate her on her first visit, and sprinkle in a little extra pixie dust throughout the day.

At that age, my biggest advice is to focus on the classics. Some of the most beloved attractions at Walt Disney World are also the most perfect for little ones. Rides like "it's a small world", Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion are timeless for a reason, and they are wonderful introductions to the magic of the parks. Dumbo in particular is a must-do for many families with younger children.

Another iconic Disney moment you might consider is getting a Mickey balloon on Main Street, U.S.A. There is something about those balloons floating above the crowds that instantly makes the day feel even more magical, especially for a first visit.

If you are looking for a really special keepsake, you could also consider booking a Capture Your Moment photo session. These short, personalized photography sessions take place inside the parks and are a lovely way to capture professional photos of such an important milestone.

And of course, meeting Mickey Mouse himself is always unforgettable. Watching a child meet Mickey for the first time is one of those Disney memories that families treasure forever.

Christie, my biggest tip is to take your time, soak it all in, and let the day unfold through your daughter's excitement and curiosity. First trips are truly one of the most magical kinds of Disney vacations. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
