We will be visiting Disney World in a couple of weeks with our young adult children and their significant others. Do I really need to reserve Fast Passes and make dining reservations in advance?

    Hi Dawn,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! While you do not have to make Disney FastPass+ selections and Disney Dining reservations ahead of your trip, I generally recommend that guests do.

With regard to Disney FastPass+ selections, these will ensure that you are able to experience some attractions with reduced wait times. Since you are traveling only with adults, you might find that the members of your party are okay with waiting in lines; however, if your party wants to experience popular attractions such as Soarin' at Epcot or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom, these can have longer wait times as many guests want to experience them as well! I would encourage you if you can to go ahead and link your Disney theme park admission in your My Disney Experience account and make Disney FastPass+ selections before you leave home. You do have the option of waiting until you arrive at the theme park and making Disney FastPass+ selections from a kiosk inside of the theme park when you do. If you decide not to make these before you leave home, I suggest that you do make them when you arrive at the theme park.

I have a similar feeling about Disney dining reservations. While you do not absolutely need them, I like to make them ahead of time to know that I will get to eat at the dining location I want to at the time I want to. If you are flexible in the time that you will eat and which location you will eat at, then this is less imperative. If you have any must-do restaurants, I recommend making a reservation so that you are not disappointed if you cannot get into the restaurant by walking up to it.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Dawn! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
