Visiting Disney World in August. Visited way back in 1990. Needless to say it has changed quite a bit since then. Just looking for some tips and tricks to save some stress and make the most out of the parks without spending a ton of $$.

David thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question about tips for your visit!

Visiting Walt Disney World in 1990 was a fantastic time to visit. If you visited that August one thing has not changed. I’ll start my tips with water, lots of water and it is available everywhere for free! Ice water is available at most locations for free. There are also water refill stations spread throughout all the parks. Some are conveniently next to bathrooms like my favorite water bottle refill station. When you visit Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios the bathrooms near Ronto Roasters has a pretty cool one. If you keep an “eye” out while refilling you may see a creature watching you. Also keep an eye out for the First Order, Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren are known for harassing park-goers thinking they are part of the resistance.

The parks have all seen some changes since your last visit is EPCOT is no different. Spaceship Earth is still at the entrance. There are new attractions as well as the classics. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a must-do for those thrill seekers. This roller coaster takes you on a trip to once again do what the Guardians do best save the galaxy of course. You will need to download the My Disney Experience App. This app will allow you to get a chance to join the Virtual Queue. This is a special line where the newest and most popular attractions you must obtain a boarding pass at either 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. Magic Kingdom Park has a brand new attraction as well that needs access to the Virtual Queue. TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise is another brand-new coaster that needs a boarding pass so on those days be sure to open your My Disney Experience App about 5-10 minutes before to make sure you are ready as the boarding groups go quickly. A great way to start your trip is getting a popcorn bucket as soon as you get to the parks this is the best value in the parks by far. You can refill your bucket every day you visit. Popcorn refills are the most inexpensive snacks around, and make almost everyone happy.

I hope this information helps you maneuver your way around a little easier. Getting familiar with the App will help you so much while you are on your visit. If you have any other planning. Questions please do not hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.com

    Have a magical day,
