We are visiting Disney World in April. My 5 year-old grandson is very excited, but does not want to see Pete the cat. Is Pete a character we will see there?

Hi, Kathy (love your name, by the way)! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

That old Pete is always causing trouble for Mickey and his pals, isn't he? But you know Mickey - he always sees the good in everyone, so even Pete gets invited to play sometimes!

While you won't run into the big lug himself in the Walt Disney World Resort, Pete is the proprietor of Pete's Silly Sideshow, a meet-and-greet location in the Storybook Circus section of the Magic Kingdom Park. You may see a picture of Pete on the building signage, and you'll hear his voice as he encourages Guests to venture inside. If you accept his invitation, you'll find yourself inside a big top where you can say hello to Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

Otherwise, you pretty much won't come across Pete in the Theme Parks. To find out which of our Disney friends you can meet, be sure to take a look at the website for other character appearances at Walt Disney World.

Kathy, while you're making plans for your family's vacation, you might want to check out Walt Disney World's guide for grandparents. It's brimming with ideas for celebrating a "grand" adventure with your family.

I hope this helps you plan a magical visit to Walt Disney World, Kathy. And don't let grumpy old Pete ruin your plans. I hear he's really an old softy at heart!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
