Hello, we will be visiting Disney World on April 10, 2019 and Hollywood Studios on April 12, 2019. My question is can we rope drop even though we are not staying on a Disney property? And where can I print a map of the park? Thanks so much

    Hi Tara,

Your magical vacation will be here before you know it! I bet you're counting down the days to all of the magic and fun!

I'm happy to let you know that yes, you'll be able to be there for rope drop, which is simply Disney-speak for the time when the theme park opens. I'd encourage you to arrive 30-45 minutes before Disney's Hollywood Studios opens and at least 45 - 60 minutes before Magic Kingdom Park opens. By arriving early, you'll have plenty of time to park your vehicle, make it to the theme park entrance, and go through security and ticketing before picking up a Times Guide and waiting for your magical day to begin. With the lowest crowds of the day first thing in the morning, my family has always found that we can experience several attractions with very little waiting before using our first FastPass+ selection later in the morning.

To find the theme park maps, you can go to each theme park page and look just underneath the blue header, over on the left-hand side. While these do change seasonally, I've gone ahead and linked the current Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios ones for you for your convenience. I hope they help you plan out your days!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tara, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your visit. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
