Hello! Visiting Disney World Apr 1 - Apr 6 with our 5y.o. son (huge star wars fan) and 2y.o. daughter (a mickey fan). Its our first time at the Disney Resorts and the kids very first time at Disney. What rides / attractions would you recommend?

    Hi Kusum!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

As a Star Wars fan, you will definitely want to take your son on Star Tours in Disney's Hollywood Studios if he is tall enough (at least 40 inches tall).  It is a motion simulator ride, but it a very smooth motion simulator and a lot of guests who sometimes get sick on motion simulator rides report that they don't on Star Tours.  There is also a great gift shop with a lot of Star Wars merchandise at the exit of the attraction, so be sure to stop by even if you don't want to do the ride itself.

Besides that, I would plan on visiting all four theme parks, especially the Magic Kingdom.  The Magic Kingdom is the crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort and, in my opinion, the crown jewel of the entire theme park industry.  Fantasyland, in particular, is full of attractions ideal for young children.  However, definitely visit the other parks.  All of the parks have attractions suitable for all ages; I realize that may sound strange if your only experience is with regional amusements parks, but it is true.  Most of the attractions throughout Walt Disney World were designed with the whole family in mind.

By the way, be sure to make Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) for any Table Service restaurants you want to dine in.  ADRs are critical, especially for Disney Character Dining Experiences and the restaurants in the theme parks, and can be made up to 180 days in advance.  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

I hope this helps  Please write back with more questions!
