We will be visiting Disney this New Year's. Do you know of any special events during the New Year's holiday at any of the parks? I have searched online but have not come up with much. Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

Everyday is a celebration at Walt Disney World, filled with parades, shows and fireworks!  Having said that, there are a few things that make New Year's Eve extra special at the Disney Parks:

Magic Kingdom: you'll be able to see 3 different parades.  In fact, there is some sort of parade almost every hour starting at 11:00 a.m.  In addition, there are two different firework shows, Holiday Wishes and Fantasy in the Sky.

Epcot:  Illuminations will show at two different times - 7:30 and 11:40 p.m.

Hollywood Studios:  Fantasmic! will have THREE performances.  There are also continuous performances from "Mulch, Sweat and Shears" beginning at 8:00 p.m. with a "Lights, Camera, Happy New Year" fireworks show capping off the evening.

For a complete schedule of all of these events, click HERE to be directed to the Disney Parks Blog.

There are also restaurants that offer special New Year's Eve menus as well as some in park buffets & dessert parties.  Call (407)WDW-DINE for more information about these events or to make reservations.

Whichever park you choose for your New Year's celebration, plan on arriving early. The parks will be crowded. Once they reach capacity, guests will not be allowed entrance.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation and Happy New Year!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
