We are visiting Disney in March 2012 with 2 boys ages 4 and 6. We need help planning our character meal. Any advice?

    Hi Dana,

I love character meals. I enjoyed them pre-parenthood and I've especially adored dining with characters with our son!

For two young boys, I would suggest Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh if they like the bear and his Hundred Acre Woods friends.

Chef Mickey's is a great place to see Mickey and his friends while dining on a delicious buffet. It's a fun "party" atmosphere where kids (and kids at heart) get to twirl their napkins in the air and sing with Mickey. This restaurant is located at the Contemporary Resort. It's a short walk or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. Part of the thrill of dining here is watching the monorail zoom overhead!

Donald Duck's breakfast buffet at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom is another fave with our son. Kids get to parade after the duck with African instruments and pose for pictures too.

If you plan a breakfast, make it prior to park opening or as a late brunch. Touring time in the morning is precious due to the low waits at attractions.

Happy dining and have a wonderful vacation!
