We will be visiting Disney in late September with a party of 8. Are we better off avoiding the park with Magic Hours each day or not? We are staying on site but thought we might fare better at a different park from the EMH.

    Hi Holly!

Generally speaking, the park that offers morning Extra Magic Hours will be more crowded than it would be if it wasn't offering Extra Magic Hours.  The best strategy is to go to the park with morning Extra Magic Hours and then hop to another park around lunch time.  The only exception to this strategy in my mind is Disney's Animal Kingdom.  Disney's Animal Kingdom doesn't offer enough early morning attractions to make Extra Magic Hours worth it relative to the extra guests it draws in.

If you don't have the Park Hopper option on your Magic Your Way tickets then I suggest skipping the park offering morning Extra Magic Hours.

I personally don't think evening Extra Magic Hours drive the crowds like morning hours do except that the park offering them will typically be crowded in the evening unless the hours are very late (like 12 to 3 am which sometimes happens for the Magic Kingdom).

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
