Hi. We are visiting Disney in late October, and we have booked a few reservations to places we know we want to eat, but otherwise, we were planning to just do quick service meals. Are the lines for quick service meals reasonable or do I need to plan ahead?

    Hi Danielle,

I'm glad to hear that you got the dining reservations you were hoping for. In regards to quick service meals, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the variety of choices you'll find. It's not all burgers and chicken strips. Each and every trip, I find yet another great quick service menu choice to add to my favorites.

My biggest tip for avoiding lines at these quick service spots would be to dine at off-peak times. We typically like to dine for lunch around 11am to beat the popular noon time crowds and then have dinner right at 5pm to avoid the evening crowds. However, there are certain places that attract more crowds due to the restaurant size and convenient location such as Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom or Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom. Some of my favorites that have some unique food options are the salmon or lobster roll at Columbia Harbour House and the varied salads at Sunshine Seasons in the Land at Epcot. I have no doubt that you'll be able to find some great eats without over planning these meals.

Even if there tend to be lines during mealtimes, they usually move very quickly and you will soon be dining on your meal and swiftly returning to the fun in the parks.

    Have a magical trip!
