We are visiting Disney in Jan 2010 with a 6 month old infant. Can you recommend a Disney resort in the Deluxe category that has the best pool for an infant (i.e., child or quiet pool area, seating area with shade)?

Hi Aaron!  I have stayed many times at the Yacht and Beach Club resorts with my grandchildren as infants and now toddlers.  Stormalong Bay is the large pool complex that joins these two resorts and many feel is the best on property.  There is a wonderful and large sandy bottom area that is just like being at the beach without the waves and salt water.  The kids can sit in the shallow water in the sand and play to their hearts desire!  You can purchase simple pails and shovels right there at the pool. There are many trees around the pool area where you can find plenty of shade to rest in a lounge chair.

The Yacht Club and Beach Club also offer quiet pools at a different location.  These will be regular pool situations and not as child friendly as the main area.  Also please remember that the temperatures in January can be quite cool so plan on the swimming during the mid day hours when the sun is at its warmest.  All Disney pools are heated to 82 degrees year round but during the cooler months you will still want the warm sunshine added for comfort!
