Hi there, Ashley - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question for our team of panelists! We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations.
It's great to hEAR that you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort during the
holiday season! As a fellow Ohioan, I know how fantastic it is to escape our wintery weather for the warm sunny skies of Florida. Plus, with all the amazing holiday decor and festivities, it really is one of the most magical times of the year to visit Mickey and his pals! You'll have celebrations from all sides as your visit also coincides with the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, full of exciting new attractions, entertainment, and so much more!
Each
Disney Resorts Collection property has their own unique options for requests that can be made by Guests pre-arrival, either at the time of booking, or during Check-In on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. I've not usually seen an option to request a room on a higher floor, and that's usually because most Resorts have only two to four floors, and for those that have more, rooms on higher floors are often a separate room type, usually because they have amazing views.
I recommend that you take two steps in your quest to ascend to a higher floor at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. First, if the Check-In process online or in the app doesn't offer the ability to make any requests you desire, you may want to
call and speak to a Reservations Cast Member. They may be able to add the request to your Resort Reservation manually as a note on the reservation.
On the day of your arrival, I recommend visiting the Front Desk of your Resort as soon as you are able to so you can also make the request there as well. While there are no guarantees, I've always found that Cast Members do their best to try and accommodate requests if doing so is possible. That being said, keep in mind that these Resorts are trying to meet the needs of thousands of Guests at once, and putting all the puzzle pieces together is challenging. At the end of the day, even the lowest level Guest Rooms in the Main Tower at the Contemporary are on the fifth floor, far above ground level!
I hope this information is helpful as you continue planning for your holiday adventure -
please let me know if I can help answer any additional questions!
