We are visiting Disney for the first time in May Sun-Sat. Any first time suggestions. Our first day will include a princess lunch. Also 1 day will be spent at Universal Studios. Restaurants would be great to know.

    Hi Stacie,

I would like to start by suggesting that you stop at Guest Relations at any theme park to pick up "First Visit" buttons. This will signal to cast members and other guests alike to celebrate your first visit with you. Starting your vacation with a princess lunch is a great idea. Character dining is a fabulous way to meet Disney characters without waiting in line. I enjoy both Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom and Akershus Banquet Hall at Epcot for dining with the princesses, since each has a royal feel.

As for restaurants, there are so many great ones at Walt Disney World! Let me offer you one of my favorites at each theme park. At Magic Kingdom, I enjoy the Plaza Restaurant, which is a hidden gem serving delicious casual fare such as sandwiches and salads. At Epcot, I love a meal at Chefs de France, with French cuisine served in a bustling bistro atmosphere. Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano is my favorite restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios, serving Italian fare in a homey atmosphere. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, I like Tusker House Restaurant, where you can sample African fare as well as meet Donald Duck and his friends in their safari gear. Also, the Walt Disney World resort hotels have great restaurants, including options from elegant dining atop Disney's Contemporary Resort at California Grill to down-home delicious trail food at Trail's End Restaurant at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Be sure to set up a My Disney Experience account online. This will allow you to make and organize your Disney dining and Disney FastPass+ selections. Since you can make dining reservations up to 180 days in advance, you can do this now for your May arrival.

I would love to help you plan more Stacie; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
