We are visiting Disney for the first time to celebrate my son's first birthday and this will also be our 6yr olds first trip. How can I make this trip special for my boys? how to celebrate the birthday? should I do character dining, if so, then where ?

Well, let me just start by saying Happy Birthday to your son!  Walt Disney World is such a magical place and what a great memory it will be for you (and him) for years to come.

We celebrated my niece's first birthday several years ago by having breakfast at Chef Mickey's!  The food is delicious with a huge spread of yummy options. We ordered her a small cake and Goofy happened to be in the room at the time greeting guests and came over and gave her a big hug after we sang to her! The moment was priceless and made for some unforgettable pictures. You can order a custom cake by calling the Walt Disney World cake hotline at 407-827-2253.

Another fun option that is truly unique and memorable is having his first haircut (if he hasn't had one yet) at the Harmony Barber Shop just off Main Street.  The cast members there make it a special occasion with pixie dust and a set of "My first haircut" Mickey ears.  You can make an appointment by calling 407-WDW-DINE.  Even your six year old could experience a fun haircut with colored hair gel and pixie dust, too!

Be sure to ask for birthday and "my first trip" buttons when you check in to your resort and wear them proudly throughout the parks during your visits.  You'll be amazed at the attention your little ones will get by wearing these.

I hope this vacation is all that you hope for and more with MAGIC and MEMORIES around every corner. I'd love to help you with any other questions you may have, so feel free to come back and ask me more!
