Hi there! I am visiting Disney at the end of this month with a group of adult friend. Should we get Genie+ or is that more for families? How much does it cost? How does it compare to lightning lanes? Thanks!

Welcome back, Nicole! We are so glad to see you again here at planDisney!

I bet you're growing more and more excited as you cross those days off your calendar and get closer to the day that you'll take off for your Walt Disney Resort Vacation! Isn't it so exciting to know that you'll be visiting during The World's Most Magical Celebration? Be sure to keep an eye out for the golden sculptures of your favorite Characters located all around the parks as a part of the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. Then, for a fun little game as you walk around, have your group keep track and see who can be the first to stop all 50 characters!

You ask an excellent question, Nicole, and I'm so happy to be able to tell you a bit more about Disney Genie+ Service and the Individual Lightning Lane selections. So let's start with Disney Genie+ Service, shall we? By purchasing Disney Genie+ Service, which currently costs $15 (plus tax) per Guest per day, you'll be able to secure the next available arrival window at more than 40 attractions and experiences throughout all four theme parks, leaving you with less time in line! Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selections can be made starting at 7 a.m on the morning of your visit. While you can only secure one Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane selection at a time, you can make another selection two hours after park opening OR once you have redeemed your first selection. An example of some attractions with Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane are Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Splash Mountain and one of my personal favorites, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Now, let's shift gears and talk a bit about Individual Lightning Lane selections. With Individual Lightning Lane selections, you can purchase and secure an arrival window for up to two of some of the most popular attractions per day. These attractions are not included with Disney Genie+ Service and must be purchased individually using the My Disney Experience app. I like to think of it as an à la carte option for faster access to some of the most highly demanded attractions throughout Walt Disney World, like Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The price per selection will vary based on the attraction, date, and time of day. You'll be able to see the most up-to-date pricing on the day of using the Tip Board on the My Disney Experience app.

To answer your question, Nicole, I absolutely recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ Service for your adults-only vacation. Disney Genie+ Service, together with Individual Lightning Lane selections will help you spend less time in the standby line and more time exploring the parks, munching snacks and enjoying all the incredible magic that Walt Disney World has to offer!

Nicole, I know there is a lot to consider when planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, so I do hope this answer has been helpful to you! Please do visit us again soon with any other questions you may have!

    Bye for now,
