We are visiting Disney at the end of April. We are staying at the Grand Floridian and our flight does not arrrive until 5:30 pm (Friday night). Do you have any suggestions on what to do Friday night with a 5, 6, and 8 year old.

    Hi Laura,

How exciting that your Disney vacation is just weeks away!  By the time you arrive at your resort, it will likely be evening, and if your kids are like mine, they will be tired after travelling.  I would recommend making a reservation for dinner at one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian (1900 Park Fare is a great character meal) or on the monorail line (Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary and Ohana at the Polynesian are both on my family's "favorites" list.)  This way your family can enjoy a low-key evening before your adventure begins the next morning.  If your kids are ready for more than just dinner, and you don't want to use a day on a park pass, you could also head to Downtown Disney, which is filled with fabulous restaurants and shops that are sure to get your family excited for the balance of your trip.

    Have a great vacation!
