Hi there we are visiting Disney during the week of Oct 7, purchasing a 4 day ticket and staying offsite. What park do you recommend starting with, and the best days to visit the others. This is our 2nd visit but it will be our friends first visit.

    Hi Ron,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm happy to offer my thoughts on planning your visit to Walt Disney World.

The good news is that you are when crowds are relatively low, especially during the week. If I understand correctly, you want to do one park a day and will not have park-hopper tickets. Based on that, let me share a few scheduling items for you to consider.

I believe every first visit to Walt Disney World should start at Magic Kingdom because it is the iconic park most people associate with the Florida Disney experience, featuring Cinderella Castle, Dumbo, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, it's a small world and more.

Guests staying at Walt Disney World resorts will be able to stay in the park until 11 p.m. on Oct. 7 as part of the Extra Magic Hours benefit Other guests will need to exit at 9 p.m. The park tends to be a bit more crowded on EMH days, but shouldn't be bad.

Also that week, Magic Kingdom will host Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Thursday and Friday. The park closes to guests without party tickets at 7 p.m. on those days.

The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will be in full swing and is one of my favorite Disney special events of the year. Fridays and Saturdays during the festival tend to be very crowded, though. Epcot also has evening Extra Magic Hours on Wednesday.

So, I would probably plan to start with Magic Kingdom on Monday or Tuesday.  I would visit Epcot on Thursday. I don't think the crowd will vary much at Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom the other days that week.

One note: Animal Kingdom closes at 5 p.m., so it's good to get there early. The evening after Animal Kingdom is a good time to explore Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk entertainment area.

I hope that is useful. Please let me know if I can offer any other planning tips or details as your visit nears. Enjoy!
