Hi, We're visiting Disney over Christmas this year. Already got our MVMCP tickets and Candlelight Processional tickets. Is there anything happening/available to do Christmas Day that we should be aware of?

Hi Tonya! Over the past years we have had the opportunity to spend the Christmas holiday at Walt Disney World. It is such a magical time to have family together to experience the fun that can be found in the parks and the resorts.

There is nothing in particular that is special for the actual Christmas day. The business of the parks and resorts goes on as usual. There is just a special air about everything you do. There won't be any special parades or fireworks as they spread the magic of these things over several weeks so many guests can enjoy them. Be sure and see the Illuminations holiday show while you are there as they add about a ten minute addition to the regular show and it is quite moving.

If you are planning on exchanging gifts that day consider what we have done in the past. Since the kids will be busy doing so much in the parks we took pictures of their gifts and wrapped the pictures and put them under a small tree we decorated and bought at a local store. We had so much fun unwrapping the pictures and seeing what would be waiting for us at home. We didn't have to worry about how to get the gifts to Disney or how to get them home this way too.

We also bought some little gifts to give to the cast members we met who were working hard on this special day. It was important to us to thank them for giving up their own family time to make ours extra magical.

Be festive, decorate your room, and be sure to book a nice dinner at one of the many restaurants on property to help celebrate this important holiday!
