Hi! We are visiting Disney for Christmas (our first Christmas there) & I’m just curious as to if the tickets will change price for Christmas week at any time throughout the year (increase closer to time). I am a Christmas fanatic & I’m so excited!!

    Hi Alisa!

Welcome to planDisney!  Christmas at the Walt Disney World Resort?  Is there any way to make the holiday season more magical?

Alisa, there is so much to see and do during the holidays that it is often a very popular time to visit the parks.  Walt Disney World ticket prices vary based on the date(s) that you are visiting.  While ticket prices are always subject to change, I've usually found that once they are posted, they typically don't change outside of any broad ticket price increases that would impact the pricing structure as a whole.  However, I do recommend booking your vacation package early as resorts can fill up quickly and, if you're buying any single-day park tickets, you may find those sell out in advance of your arrival.

When planning a visit during the holidays, many people immediately think of the beautiful decorations at Magic Kingdom Park and the festive special-ticketed event, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.   However, my favorite park at Christmas is probably EPCOT.  Here you'll find the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which celebrates holidays around the world and a wonderful Cookie Stroll with, you guessed it, a chance to taste lots of delicious cookies!  EPCOT is also home to the Candlelight Processional during the holiday season.  This stunning performance features a gospel choir, live music, and celebrity narrators.  The Candlelight Processional is incredibly popular and I recommend grabbing a dining package that pairs a meal at an EPCOT restaurant with guaranteed seating for a performance that night.  You can keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about this year's events over the next few months!

Other great holiday offerings you may want to consider include:

Alisa, one final tip that I'll share is to plan to arrive at the parks early and stay throughout the day.  During Christmas week, some parks can reach capacity so you may want to prepare to be flexible if needed and plan for some rope drop to fireworks itineraries on your theme park days!

I hope this information helps as you prepare to celebrate the most magical time of year at The Most Magical Place on Earth!  As you're making your vacation planning list (and checking it twice!), remember that you are always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney!  We hope to see you again real soon!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
