We are visiting Disney with the ASRA convention in May. We bought convention park tickets and they say: Theme Parks (3 days) + 1 FUN. What is the FUN item, and is that something I need to register for?

    Hey there, Sara!

Thanks for stopping in to see us here at planDisney! I'm excited for you that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort and making time to mix in some theme park magic with your convention days.

First off, how cool that you'll have three days to enjoy all the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks! There's so much to see and do and enjoy in the theme parks this year. Even better, you'll be visiting during the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. I do hope you'll have an opportunity to enjoy the Festival and all its sights and flavors.

With your "(3 days) + 1 FUN" ticket, not only can you look forward to all the theme park magic that awaits you, you can look forward to some extra pixie-dusted fun beyond the theme parks. I'll share with you what the "FUN" label on your ticket typically refers to, and I'll add in the suggestion to reach out to the Walt Disney World Resort Ticketing team by calling them at 407-566-4985 to confirm any specific offerings for the tickets you purchased.

The "FUN" offering with your ticket is typically similar to the Water Park and Sports Option that can be added to a ticket. The "FUN" add-on would give you access to one experience that could include fun adventures like Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, and Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. Some experiences that otherwise could be included, like the NBA Experience at Disney Springs, are currently unavailable.

If you take a look at the information for Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, you'll see that you can book a time in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529, and walk-ups are also accepted. Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course has an online booking option, and you could also call (407) WDW-GOLF. Currently, there is no requirement to make an advanced reservation for Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Sara, if you have more questions as you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, please do come back and ask us here at planDisney. We always love to share our own vacation experiences as a way to help you plan.

Here's wishing you a spectacularly successful convention and a wonderfully fun stay at Walt Disney World Resort!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
